Sacramento, CA // wesley & madison // urban romantic rustic church wedding

For Madison & Wesley, everything about their wedding day was uniquely and perfectly them. Sacramento, CA, brought on the perfect day for a wedding with urban and romantic touches, like that STUNNING flower crown and bronze plated pocket watch. Nothing but smiles for this bride and groom.

It was just so obvious to me how much they love each other. With everything that changed last minute with this wedding, I was floored by how peaceful and completely content Madison & Wesley were. Their original Sacramento venue didn't pan out, so they had to be creative and find a way to bring the outdoors inside. From flower crowns to gardens to branched arches lining the aisle, I'd say Madison & Wesley did a pretty good job, with the help of their amazing bridal party and family.

One of my favorite things about this romantic wedding was Madison's dress. THE DRESS. GUYS. Seriously... this girl's mother hand made Madison's dress. With a stunning yet modest neckline and HUGE train, every inch of Maddison was covered in lace and beauty. The beading and buttons down the back were just the touch of sexy she needed. And she ROCKED it. Just wait.

And of course... getting to take bridal pictures in Old Town Sacramento was just the icing on the cake (no pun intended). Those brick buildings and old wooden sidewalks—it totally brought out the rustic and adventurousness in both of them. I'm in love with all of it.

I can't wait for you to see for yourself!

San Martin, CA // alex & david // olive grove family session

A few months ago, I decided that photography would some day be my full time income. I absolutely LOVE to take photos of couples in love and families celebrating the stage of life they're in. When I see a photo with such genuine and authentic smiles, I just can't help but feel so so so much joy. Family photography and wedding photography is my dream.

Then I took a quick break and watched Tangled to get into the "I've got a dream" mood :)

I put out a call on the Facebooks and Instagrams for 8 families or couples to invest in my dream and my community was faithful! Within just 2 hours, all 8 spots had been filled and I was ready to start learning and preparing to WOW my new friends.

Well, in today's blog post, we've got our first family photography client, the Almeida family. Alex, David and little Henry came looking AMAZING using my new family photography style guide. Alex chose a gorgeous, flowy, floor-length summer dress with a beautiful red and blue floral pattern. She picked out a clean, white button-up (because classy is classic) with fitted blue pants to complement her style. And of course, Henry stood out in his salmon pink shorts and ADORABLE button-up to match both of his parents.

But what really tied all of them together is the love and laughter that are so apparent in their family photos. Henry's definitely going to be a total ladies' man... just wait till you see those hands in his pockets! He's just got the biggest heart! And I love taking a just a few moments during family photos to treat the couple with a few moments of couple photos... to remember that this family is here because they have a marriage sustained by love. That's what family photography is—love.
